My business is in the health care industry because of a health challenge I had that traditional medicine just could not solve. In the ten years since, I have learned a lot about alternative health care and how to take care of myself without invasive medical care. Now that I am in my sixties, it is even more important for me to age gracefully, remain fit and active, and be healthy.

I have had several careers including working in the public sector, working for a corporation, and owning a traditional small business with lots of employees. The one thing I never thought of was how to evaluate a job or business and know if it was right for me. When I came across this list it made perfect sense. Had I found this years ago, perhaps I would have made different choices.

I must admit this is very new to me. Up until a few months ago, I had no idea what social media marketing meant. Putting comments on Facebook or Twitter seemed like a giant waste of time and anyway who cares about my daily life and what I am doing. Much to my surprise it is much more than the daily musings of people who have nothing better to do, but rather a marketing tool to get your company seen and heard, build your brand awareness and increase sales and leads. Who knew?

It concerns me that we automatically go to drugs as a treatment for Osteopenia, Osteoporisis or any other condition for that matter. Personally, I have had a few very bad experiences with the side effects of drugs and I am now very cautious.

One of the things I noticed in this aging process is that I have to make myself drink water. I know how important hydration is so even though I may not feel thirsty, I drink my water anyway. Actually thirst is not always a very good indicator of the body’s need for more fluids, especially as we get older.
