About ten years ago, I had a health challenge and ended up having surgery. The surgery itself caused many other health challenges and in retrospect, the surgery was unnecessary. At the time, I did get a second opinion but it never occurred to me to look at natural solutions to my health challenge. That obviously was a mistake, but one I will not make again. Today, I look for natural solutions to staying healthy and know a lot more about what it takes to stay healthy.
I have been a successful entrepreneur for over twenty years. Before working for myself I worked in sales and marketing in the commercial furniture industry, earning numerous sales and marketing awards. So even though I had a successful career in sales, I was still working for someone else and they determined what I should be paid.
The first company my husband and I started was in the service industry. We installed and serviced commercial furniture for large corporations. We grew that company to a multi-million dollar business with over 50 employees. We got to the point where we could not deal with all the issues of having buildings, trucks and employees and we sold it.
The second company is in the health care industry and this came about because of the health challenge I had that traditional medicine just could not solve. In the ten years since, I have learned a lot about alternative health care and how to take care of myself without invasive medical care. Now that I am in my sixties, it is even more important for me to age gracefully, remain fit and active, and be healthy enough so medications are not necessary. I can honestly say that I feel better than I did twenty years ago.
We are serial entrepreneurs so three years ago we started another company. We have a renewable energy business specializing in solar systems for both residential and business applications.
My husband and I have designed our life with an emphasis around time freedom. We want to stay active and engaged but we also want the freedom to take a couple of months off if we choose. We have eight grandchildren with another one on the way. It is very important to us to have the time to be there for them.
